This is one of the most important weeks in the astrological calendar. On Friday, 3rd, Neptune moves into the sign of Pisces, through which it will journey for well over a decade. This planet takes 165 years to complete a round of the horoscope, and when it changes signs it places its signature on a whole new generation. So, welcome to Generation Pisces! Neptune, is the natural ruler of Pisces, therefore we shall see the very best and worst of this planet during the next 14 years. And if you’re wondering what that might be, how about the abandonment of formal religions, the breakdown of society and the rising of the world’s waters? These things we can already see. What we cannot see is the global unity that will come from humanity’s trials and tribulations. The last time Neptune transited Pisces, such things as photography and anaesthesia were developed, and, of course, the Great Romantic Movement swept across the globe, so I’m looking forward to stepping into a very pink and beautiful world from time to time in the coming years. Now, where did I put my keys...
February 2012
How very appropriate of Neptune to enter its own sign just before Valentine’s Day - among the many attributes of this most mysterious of planets are romance and fantasy; it has other properties, of course - mayhem, loss and deception come to mind. Neptune arrives in Pisces on 3 February and will take roughly thirteen years to move all the way through it. If you’d like to read a little more about Neptune’s change of sign, why not sign up for February’s newsletter. We will have a taste of what this planet can do for us when it conjuncts the sun and Mercury during the week of the 13th, so during this time make a point of watching for any headline-grabbing events involving such Neptunian things as oceans, oil, medicine, movies and the supernatural. (The Oscars are going to be very different this year, and it is interesting that the film tipped for many of the little statuettes is a silent movie, The Artist. Put your money on this one.) Venus will be in Aries for V-Day, bringing out the best in romance and relationships for members of this sign and their opposite number, the Librans. And since it is a Leap Year, maybe lady Rams will be leading the zodiac in making their men an offer they cannot refuse. Saturn turns retrograde on the 7th – the same day as the full moon in Leo – so we can expect more economic doom and gloom and a rise in tensions, especially in the Middle East. Nonetheless, February is not a bad month, and in patches – take the weekend of the 25th for instance – it’s really rather good.
